Once upon a time, all black watches were en vogue. Big watch brands including Bell & Ross and Hublot all rushed to produce all-black watch models. As one of the pioneers, Hublot seemed to be the most successful one in this field. Their all-black watches were really fantastic. However, trends change so quick. Now mostly black is in while all-black is a bit out. Then watch makers begin to put a bit color to the black toned watches. The join of other color is actually good- at least, it makes the watch much easier to read. The watch market now is refreshed with many new black watches with a touch of other color(s)

Graham, for example, has just released such a new watch- the Chronofighter Trigger "Back in Black". The watch is, in fact, a 99% black watch with a bit red used on the split second chronograph seconds, the “chronograph” wording on the dial and the ring of the pusher button for the chronograph second hand. The a little red is enough to break the monotony and increase the legibility of the watch.

Made from stainless steel, the 46mm watch case is coated with black PVD. And under the huge crown, there is the brand’s signature chronograph trigger. And the pusher button at 2 o’clock position is to control the split second chronograph hand. The watch is powered by a self-winding Graham caliber G1743 movement that also provides a power reserve display at 12 o’clock positon. And the split second  function is somewhat useful combined with the 30 minute chronograph.

This cool black watch from Graham asks for $12,400, a bit high in my humble opinion. When the market has many black watches available, you need to do comparison before make final decision.
